Scientific name: LESAGE Sylvaine-Louise
Habitat : born in a miner's terraced house in north of France; father a coal miner; mother occupied herself with the brood. The little Louise was very happy when her father brought back for her from the mine the "bread of the skylark"; this inspires the name of the hotel and its afternoon tea. Migrated to the east; alighted in the Lot in order to continue her migration to Bagnères de Luchon.
Song: the Louise has a musical ear, frequently hums Aznavour, Polnareff or Gainsbourg, but her repertoire also includes Bénabar or Cabrel. The Louise sometimes strums her guitar.
Diet: food gourmet, the Louise loves regional produce and appreciates fine wines (in moderation). But the Louise must sometimes demand of herself a draconian regime ... then forgets it ... and then starts again.
Nesting habits: the Louise had had three children who have already spread their wings.

Scientific name: Alauda arvensis
Habitat : lives in open country, fields, pastures, moors. avoid woodland found at medium to high altitude (1000 to 2700 m) resident, partial migrant, winters in southern Europe.
Song: a clear liquid triri; high pitched musical song, very long and sustained in hovering and descending flight.
Diet: feeds on insects, larvae, earthworms, grains and seeds.
Nesting habits: nests on the ground; female lays 3 to 5 eggs; incubation is about 11 days. Both parents feed the nestings. The young fly at about 3 weeks.
Flight: flies at low altitudes, turning near the ground; flight undulating over long distances; can cover 30 to 80 km a day.
