All banks offer an exchange service, so does the Post Office. Some banks are closed on Saturday, others on Monday. They are all closed on Sundays and public holidays.

The Tourist Office is in the town centre, 15 minutes walk from the Hôtel Alouette.
It is open all year, from 9h to 12.30h and 13.30h to 19h. On Sundays and public holidays opening times are 9h to 12.30h and 14h to 18h. The telephone number is 05 61 79 21 21.
You will find a lot of information about the town and its activities here, but almost all the information is available in the entrance to the Hôtel Alouette. A town plan of Bagnères-de-Luchon is in each of our rooms and you are welcome to take it out with you.

The Guide Office is in the same building as the Tourist Office.
You will find information there on walks and all the other activities in the mountains, for summer and winter. You can book a guided walk to match your fitness and experience. The Guides lead treks to the highest mountain in the Pyrenees, Pic d'Aneto.

To stock up your provisions for your next excursion isn't a problem in Bagnères-de-Luchon. A great shopping centre is at your disposal every day, even Sunday morning in summer.
It's just 3 minutes walk to a supermarket, and in the town you will find all kinds of shops just a 10 minute walk from the Hôtel Alouette.

During your stay at the Hotel des Sports, you will be able to hire skis, snowshoes, bikes (road or mountain).
For winter activities it is possible to hire equipment directly from the stations. If you arrive by road, you can ring the SKI SET on 05 61 79 33 32 or call in. It's on the outskirts of Bagnères-to-Luchon, on your left, just after Luchon town sign. By giving a card from the Hotel des Sports you will get a discount. If you arrive by train, the nearest place is Maeva Sports, close to the telecabine. You will get a preferential rate if you show our hotel card.
For hiring a road or mountain bike there are several specialists 5 minutes walk from the Hôtel Alouette. You can ring 05 61 79 88 56 as this one offers the greatest choice. A discount may possibly be negotiated, according to the season and the duration of your hire, by confirming that you are a customer of our Hôtel Alouette.

There is no public library in Bagnères-de-Luchon, but there is a Library, managed by an association, in the centre of the town.
