You prefer to go:

- or to the thermal centre for recuperation before setting off again!
The small town of Bagnères-de-Luchon is on regular routes of the Tour de France.
Located between the col du Portillon, altitude 1293m, and the col Peyresourde, altitude 1569m, the Hotel des Sports is ideally placed for cyclists.
The road that goes up to the col Peyresourde starts at the roundabout just 50m from the Hotel. Why not have a go if you are fit enough? When you reach the top you have a relaxing descent of 17km, then you can try the col d'Aspin, altitude 1489m, then to Tourmalet, altitude 2115m, a great classic of the Tour de France!
The road that goes up to Superbagnères is fairly new so it is broad and smooth. You can lose a few pounds by climbing the 20km from Bagnères-de-Luchon altitude 630m to Superbagnères altitude 1800m. The views are fantastic all along the road, if you have the energy to look - or you could just stop and catch your breath.
The Hotel des Sports has a secure garage for your bikes at no extra charge. There are a limited number of places.

Touring by bikephotographic guide
The Hôtel Alouette is referred to in the guide book of the FFCT, Fédération Française de CycloTourisme, the League of the Pyrenees and the Cyclo-Club Béarnais as a good place to stay.
We are on the famous road of the 18 cols (710km) which make up a well known route between Cerbère and Hendaye from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic Ocean, or the other way! Or you can do a full circuit but you must stop at the Hôtel Alouette or you will be disqualified!

Mountain bikingphotographic guide
There are 70km of paths and forest tracks mentioned in the "Guide VTT" available at the Hôtel Alouette. Superbagnères is a great place to do this sport.
You are on top of the world and because of that, to help you get the most from your day you can go up in the cable car. Your bike is fixed to the outside of the cabin and ten minutes later you have gone from Bagnères-de-Luchon, altitude 630m, to an altitude of 1800m! Even up here there are plenty more climbs to do and this is really MOUNTAIN biking with panoramic views and a fantastic descent at the end of it!
The GR10 is a very broad path at Superbagneres so there is plenty of room for bikes and hikers. Admire the unspoilt view of the valley de Lis and the surrounding peaks.
There are a lot of rides to choose from, either directly from the Hôtel Alouette, or from Superbagnères. The valley d'Oueil, the forest track of Herran, the old road of the Hospice de France, are just a few that we can look at on a map together to give you really beautiful circuits.

You can of course hire your mountain bike from one of the specialist shops in Bagnères-de-Luchon. You will find them just 5 minutes walk from the Hôtel Alouette.
