After ski and by request, Louise can prepare «the bread of skylark» (afternoon tea with cake or pastry).
If you want to hire a mountain bike, a road bike or something else, several specialist shops are at your disposal 200m from the Hôtel Alouette.
Garage for bikes and motor bikes
Your bikes can be put in the hotel garage which is locked at night, there is no charge, but places are limited to up to 20 bikes.
Two or three motor bikes can also be parked in this garage, but always subject to space.
Parking is free around the Hôtel Alouette at Bagnères-de-Luchon, at the moment. It is relatively simple to find a space for a car.
Some advice:
Avoid the 4 places right in front of the hotel:
The first is reserved for the disabled,
The second in front of the entrance to the hotel, is reserved for unloading (It is easily distinguished as it is marked with a white cross),
The next two are so short (outside the bar) that your car will stick out onto the road!
So where else can you park?
It's very easy. Beside these restricted places there are ten free places. They are just opposite the small chapel of Barcugnas. It is also possible to park around the chapel. For bigger vehicles it is best to use the carpark at the station just 50m away. Minibuses, vans and coaches can be parked there.
If you have a lot of luggage, you can park temporarily on the resticted area in front of the hotel's entrance to unload.
We have many excursion and walking guides, in French and English, to help you explore Bagnères-de-Luchon and its area, or to help you prepare for your next holiday.
You can also use the library in Bagnères-de-Luchon: it is an association, and you pay a contribution for the loan of the books.
If you are staying at the Hôtel Alouette at Bagnères-de-Luchon for a few days to walk in the area, the map that you need is Top 25 number 1848 OT from IGN, 1/25000.
You can order it direct from IGN if you want to prepare your walks in advance.
You can also borrow it free from us, as long as no-one else has taken our one and only copy!

Being a keen walker in the area, please ask me for ideas about where to go.

If you leave for a long excursion, it is advisable to carry food.
This service must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance and can be adapted to your wishes.
If you have a coolbag and want to cool your blocks they can spend the night in the freezer. This free service is always limited by the space available.
In the entrance of the Hotel des Sports each morning you will find the weather forecast for the day, and the next day.
A guarantee? Im afraid not. You will not be refunded if the forecasts prove to be wrong and mess up your plans!
You can always send the bill from the Hôtel to France Meteo...
The Hôtel Alouette has some board games for you to have fun with the family. Please ask at reception.
